Dr. Tony DeFrance, MD. Founder & President
Dr. Tony DeFrance founded Digimedica with the vision of creating an optimized system to transfer knowledge and skills from content experts to motivated learners. He is an expert at breaking complex subjects down so that anyone can understand and learn them. As a Cardiologist and a world-wide educator in Cardiovascular CT angiography, Dr. DeFrance has had extensive experience teaching and delivering innovative training methodologies. He has taught more than 2000 physicians in more than 30 countries worldwide how to develop expertise in cardiac CTA and use it appropriately to improve patient care. Dr. DeFrance has recently created programs and taught medical industry sales and executive teams how to speak with physicians about clinical topics and better understand the clinical applications of their technology. He has also successfully run a prevention oriented medical imaging company with four locations and created and launched several software products.
Dr. DeFrance is a clinical associate professor at Stanford University. He did his Cardiology training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He did his residency at UC San Francisco, and Medical School at the University of Southern California. He was in clinical practice as an interventional cardiologist for 10 years before dedicating himself to a career in education. Dr. DeFrance is Chairman of the education committee for the Society of Cardiovascular CT. He is the author of a number of articles and book chapters and has won multiple awards for excellence in teaching. He is also the director of Cardiology for HealthHelp, a company that uses evidence based medicine to improve patient care and efficiency.
